Jesus has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. But there is a danger that we can drift away from Jesus. We drift by making assumptions that He is with us and by not checking that we havent gone off without Him. We drift when He is not our No1 priority. We need to ensure that we keep close to Jesus because without Him we cant do anything. We need to keep close through prayer, meditation on His word, through waiting and looking for Him to lead us. If we do move away we need to repent, to return to Him, knowing that when we do- there He is waiting for us & loving us just the same.
