We are led by a team of Elders. These include our pastor and several other men in the church. There are many different areas where people can serve and lead in the church with the elders being responsible for the general oversight of church life.

Richard Jenkins

Hi, I'm Richard and I'm the pastor of the church. Soon after becoming a follower of Jesus in 2010, I felt that God was calling me into full-time Christian ministry. In 2013 I left my job at Morriston hospital ,where I had been working as a Charge Nurse in Intensive Care, to work 1stly as an assistant in the church and then to take on the role of pastor in 2016. If I had to sum up the chief purpose of my life it would simply be to know Jesus and to make Him known to others.

Jim Webber

I have always attended Chapel, beginning as a boy in Llansamlet. At the age of 19 I had an experience of saving faith and trusted in Christ as my saviour. Immediately I began attending Lonlas Gospel Mission and, after going to Bible School in Barry, was called to be a pastor in Brynmawr where I was for 7 years.

From Brynmawr the Lord called me to Newbridge in Gwent and after 22 years there I returned to Lonlas to be the pastor. I retired at the end of 2004 and I am now an elder in the church.

I have been happily married to Janice for 61 years and we have 3 sons, Timothy, Jeremy and Paul, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandson.

I preach regularly in the local churches and sing in the Swansea Gospel Male Voice Choir.

Mark Davies

I was brought up in a home where the Lord Jesus was served and loved, heard about the Lord Jesus, however that was never enough, how can religious observance take away sins, it can’t only a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus counts, I saw my need, under conviction of sin is not pleasant but essential, I saw my need and cried out to him and hallelujah, he heard my cry.
In the autumn of 1982 my Dad became the Pastor of Lonlas Gospel Mission and found a place where I was loved and respected and encouraged to serve the Saviour here and am still here, in the fullness of time I became a deacon and under Paul Koschiecha was brought in to eldership, I felt inadequate for such a task but the Lord has blessed me and know this is the place where God has called me, my prayer is that many will be saved and brought to faith in Christ and that we would be salt and light in our community.

Bruce Holliday

Hi there, I'm Bruce. I was fortunately to grow up in a Christian home with Godly parents and family. Although faith is not hereditary I did come to my own knowledge of my need for salvation and cleansing at an early age. Blessed with a lovely wife and 2 boys we have enjoyed the privilege to serve at Lonlas and partner in the work for His glory.
